Add, Modify and Delete Contacts in the CRM
Overview
Contacts in the CRM can be updated at any time including adding editing, deleting, or merging profiles.
Add A New Contact
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select the CRM tab from the top menu and select Contacts from the drop-down menu.
- Select Add Contact on the right side of the page.
- Choose the Investor Type (Individual, Joint Account, Entity, Self Directed IRA or Trust), complete the required fields marked with red asterisks and enter any additional information that you would like before selecting Save. Note: The screenshot below shows an Individual contact. Each investor will need an Individual profile with a unique email address in order to access their investor portal. Additional contacts (entities, trusts, etc) may be added separately and connected to the Individual. Please click here for more information on Investor Profile Connections.
Edit An Existing Contact
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select the CRM tab from the top menu and select Contacts from the drop-down menu.
- Search for the contact you need to edit.
- Select the name of the contact to pull up their profile.
- From here, you can edit information under the Documents, Connections, Bank Accounts, Signers and Profile tabs or you can select the pencil icons within the left side-bar.
- After completing the edits, select Save.
Delete a Contact
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select the CRM tab from the top menu and select Contacts from the drop-down menu.
- Search for the name of the contact you wish to delete.
- Click on the arrow to the left of the contact's name and select Delete Contact.
- A confirmation will ask you if you are sure you are ready to delete the contact. To confirm the deletion, select Delete. Note: You may not be able to delete a contact if the profile has any connections, distributions, or investments that need to be moved or deleted first.
Merging Two Contacts Together
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select the CRM tab from the top menu and select Contacts from the drop-down menu.
- Search for the contact you would like to be the profile that the second contact merges into. It will be considered the Master Profile.
- Click on the arrow to the left of the contact's name and select Merge Contact.
- Choose the other contact that you want to merge into the selected Master Profile.
- Select Continue To Preview to review the information and confirm that you are merging the right profiles.
- Select Merge to complete the profile merge.
