Product Release Notes (Q4 2022)
10.7.22 Release | Multi-Factor Authentication For Investors | NEW FEATURE
We are happy to announce the release of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Investors!
After the release of MFA for Sponsors, we have been eager to make MFA available for Investors. We are excited to have options for both available in-app now, and will be rolling out a few enhancements in the coming months.
- In order to implement MFA for Investors, please note the New Investor Portal must be launched.
- When you navigate to Investor Settings, scroll down to the section titled “Multi-Factor Authentication.” There you will find toggles to enable authentication via Email and/or SMS.
- You will also find a toggle labeled “Remember Browser” - this toggle controls the checkbox to remember a browser for 30 days; toggling this on will allow investors to remember their browser once they’ve logged in with MFA if they elect to check that checkbox.
- Note that in order to enable SMS MFA, Email MFA must be enabled as well. When switching SMS MFA on, you will notice that the Email MFA toggle will automatically be switched on for you, as this is intentional.

10.24.22 Release | FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS
eSignature Enhancements
-
- The “Me (Now)” signer type has been removed when creating a new eSignature template. Any existing templates that currently use it will not be affected by this change. (Side note - we’ve been made aware that some clients used the textbox variable for the Me (Now) signer as a catch-all for adding dates, page numbers, etc. We are looking into adding a new variable, or another solution altogether, that will accommodate that need in a future enhancement)
- The inv_preferred_return Sender variable logic has been updated to pull in the class or individual Preferred Return, depending on if the eSignature document is being signed through the investment wizard or invite to invest. So if an individual has a different Preferred Return percentage than what’s entered on the Add/Edit Class page and they are invited to invest, then their percentage will display on their signing document, as opposed to the class percentage.
CRM Enhancements
-
-
- A “Date Met” field has been added on the contact Profile tab for all profile types other than Internal Entity.
- The Family Members section on the Profile tab has been renamed to Emergency and External Contacts. This has been updated on the Contacts export to match.
-
New Investor Portal Enhancements
-
- A column for “Class” has been added to the Transactions table in the New Investor Portal.
- In Investor Settings, the following Dashboard Metrics have been renamed for consistency:
- Capital Returned During Period —> Capital Returned YTD
- New Investments During Period —> New Investments YTD
- Total Distributions During Period —> Total Distributions YTD
- The Referred By field has been removed from Manage Profiles, so investors cannot add or edit that field when editing their profile(s). Note: This field is still available in the CRM for sponsors to add that information, and it still displays on the Sign Up page for the New Investor Portal so investors can enter who referred them.
Other Enhancements
-
- The Segments page has been updated to match other pages in the app, like eSignature Templates and Soft Commits, for consistency.
- The "Executed" investment status has been removed - any instances of "Executed" being used have been automatically updated to "Accepted."

CRM Enhancements

- The “Referred By” field has been added to the Profile tab for all profile types (not just Individual and Entity).
- On the Investments tab of a contact’s profile, there’s now a gear wheel above the table to show/hide columns, similar to the class cap table.
- Shares and Unreturned Contributions can now be added to that table via the gear wheel
- The “Status” column in the CRM Contacts table has been updated to “Invite Status” so it’s clearer what that status is actually referring to.
- When searching for Individual Responsible Parties in Advanced Search, an icon will now be displayed to the right of profiles in the table so when you hover over the icon, then a list of investor profiles that the individual is a responsible party for and that meet the Advanced Search condition(s) will display.

11.18.22 Release | FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS
eSignature Enhancements
-
- General vs. Specific Signer Types
Note: The account must be launched to the New Investor Portal to see this feature.- When creating an eSignature template, sponsors will now see radio buttons for “General” and “Specific” Signer Types. This selection will determine the Signer Type variables that are required to create a template - selecting the “General” radio button populates Investor and Joint Account Secondary (plus any additional secondary signers and countersigners) as required signature fields to save a new template; selecting “Specific” provides all of the profile types available today as signature fields. The General Signer Type is ideal for documents where investors can all sign in the same location, whereas the Specific Signer Type should be used when there are different investor profiles that need to sign in different locations within the document.
- A “Signer Type” column has been added to the eSignature Templates table so you can easily see which Signer Type a template uses.
- In Edit Classes, the Signer Type will be displayed in brackets when selecting a template to assign to a class(es). The same class cannot use templates with both the General and Specific Signer Type, so validation has been added and an error messaging well will appear to alert the sponsor of this.
- Larger coding modal - we’ve increased the size of the modal to code the eSignature template in. It now takes up the full page, providing sponsors with more screen space to code their documents!
- General vs. Specific Signer Types
CRM Enhancements
-
- Sponsors will now have the option to mark a contact as “Inactive” now from their profile page. In the “…” dropdown menu, clicking “Mark Inactive” will display a red circle next to the contact’s profile type in the side panel, and in the CRM table, a red circle will show next to their role in the Role column.
- “SIN” has been added as a Tax ID type to select when entering a contact’s Tax ID number.
Other Enhancements
-
- On the Project List table, the filters and sorting of columns will be retained when navigating away from the page and returning back to the table. It will be cleared on hard refresh and on logout.
- The Raised Capital bar graph has been renamed to “Raised Capital Progress” and updated to include Pending/Incomplete investments, which is indicated by a yellow bar. Accepted investments will still be indicated by the green bar, and hovering over the green and yellow bars will show the sum of investments for each investment status.
- Default metrics have been added for the Dashboard, Offering Metrics, and Offering Page on the New Investor Portal, so that new accounts and accounts transitioning over already have those metrics set up. These default metrics are based on the most commonly used in those locations across all accounts.

New Investor Portal
-
- Fund Details! To parody the Old Investor Portal, Fund Details is now working in the new portal. On the Edit Classes page, the sponsor can add any fund investments (in a CRE project) that their fund entity is invested in, plus the metrics they’d like to show for those investments. Investors will see the fund investments displayed as tiles on the Offering Details page, below the class information. When an investor clicks on a fund investment tile, they will be land on the Offering Details page for that investment but will not see an Invest Today button.
- For multiple contributions in an Offering, an investor can click on the person icon on the Offering tile to see what the investment status is for each of their contributions.
New Investor Settings
-
- There’s a new toggle on the General Settings page labeled “Offering Page - Total Investment” that is toggled on by default. When toggled off, the Total Investment Amount that is displayed above the Invest Today button on the Offering Details page will be hidden.
- A couple of metric descriptions have been updated on the Investment Metrics page in Investor Settings.
Other Enhancements
-
- In the table on the Investments tab of a contact’s profile, the “Amount" and "Investment Date" columns are now shown by default.
- On the Project Org chart, “Invested Amount” has been renamed to “Total Amount.”
- All portal notifications now have the option to customize the reply-to email address.
