How to Connect Fund Investments
When you would like to associate one or more assets that a Fund has acquired, these can be connected as 'Fund Investments.'
Steps:
- Each asset must be represented as a new CRE-type project. For more details on how to build a project, click HERE.
- Add a class with a Target Amount for 100% of the purchase price of the asset. Ownership is typically set at 100% with no other classes.
- Once you have created your CRE-type project and added a class for the Fund Investment, click 'Add Investment' to get started.'

Search for the name of the Fund in the Investor Name field, select the Fund as the investor, and enter the acquisition price as the Invested Amount. You should see the Ownership Percentage field automatically calculate that this amount matches the Target Amount; therefore, it should be 100%. Select 'Accepted' as the Investment Status, enter the acquisition date as the Date Placed, and select 'Investment' as the Investment Type. Choose 'via Internal Transfer' or 'Use Other Payment Method' as the Preferred Distribution Method. Save.
- Navigate back to the Fund project. Click into the entity name from the Project Summary.
- From the Entity Summary level, click on the 3 horizontal dots (top right) and select Edit Classes. You can also select Edit Classes by clicking on the drop-down arrow to the left of the class name.
- Scroll down to the Investment Details section. If you have not made changes to this section yet, you will need to click the circular plus button (+) to expand the section.
- Scroll to the Fund Details section. Select Add Fund Investement, and select your fund investment(s).

To show the connected Fund Investments, be sure the Fund Details Table is turned on, as this is the best way to show Fund Investment metrics and details to investors. Map pins are an optional toggle to add the asset locations at the bottom of the page. For more information on Fund Investment Details, click HERE.
Investors will then be able to see the connection of the asset to the Fund as a Fund Investment, with the various Fund Details that you decide to add to the Fund Details Table.
