Manage Investor and Project Documents
Overview
This article will cover various methods of uploading documents, including uploading documents for internal storage, specific investors, and uploading documents for all investors within a specific project, entity or class!
Uploading documents for internal storage
Click Documents > Personal & Project Documents
Then click the name of your firm (our internal environment is named "IMS University")
Files uploaded here will only be available for team members who have access to your IMS Admin portal.
Uploading documents for specific investors
Method 1:
Click Documents > Personal & Project Documents
Click Investor Profiles
This will allow you to upload files directly to an investor's profile. When you upload here, you will be asked if you want to display the file on the Dashboard. If so, you will select a Document Type to store the document under. If there is not a desired Document Type that is listed, selecting "Other" will create an open textbox. This will allow you to add a custom display folder. You also have the ability to manually enter a published date. If you don't select a date, then the system will default to the date that you uploaded the file.
Method 2:
Navigate to the CRM profile for an investor > click the Documents Tab > Click Upload Document
Then you will be able to associate the document with a project or entity, publish it to the Dashboard, select the Document Type, enter the published date, or choose to notify your investor the document was uploaded.
Uploading project, entity, or class-level documents
You also have the ability to upload documents for all investors in a specific project class or entity. To do this you will click Documents > Personal & Project Documents
Click projects
Click into the project you would like to upload the document for
Here you can upload a document for all investors in this project by clicking "Upload Document" in the top right-hand corner. If you would like to upload the document to the entity or class level, you will click the entity name.

If you upload to the project or entity level, you have the option to display on the Investor Dashboard, select the Document Type, and enter the Publish Date if needed. If there is not a desired Document Type that is listed, selecting 'Other' will create an open textbox. This will allow you to add a custom document display folder. You also have the option to notify investors when documents are available, which will send your investor an email informing them a document has been uploaded.
When you upload the document to the class level, you have the options that you have on the project and entity level, and two new options:
Offering Page: Uploads the document to the offering page, so your investor can review the document prior to making an investment
Acknowledgments Page: Requires the investor to acknowledge the document prior to completing their investment
